When I started my journey on Top Chef Jr., I never would've thought that a pineapple would be the ingredient that sent me home. Don't get me wrong - I love pineapple! The problem was that we always bought pre-cut pineapples from the store, so I didn't have to cut one up myself.  I didn't realize that you had to remove the core!  Well, I definitely know now. And while I was eliminated because of it, I decided to embrace ALL THINGS PINEAPPLE! In fact, I have come to really love the fruit (core and all).  So in case you need a refresher on how to properly cut up a pineapple, here's a video of the correct way to chop one of these bad boys!

The pineapple has become my symbol, not just because of the elimination round but because I can relate to this fruit.  I decided to Be a Pineapple. I am proud of my accomplishments on Top Chef Jr., so like a pineapple, I stand tall and wear a crown, but will always be sweet on the inside.  This is just the beginning for me. I want to compete on Top Chef as an adult. And just maybe, the dish I will win it with will have my signature ingredient - the pineapple!
